A Small Townhall Wedding
In September Maddie & Jess got married at the gorgeous Old Marylebone Townhall in London. This venue is always so gorgeous for intimate weddings and it was a true pleasure to be back there.
I love this venue for how inclusive it feels, both with the people that work there but with their representation and inclusivity, so being able to photograph this small LGBTQ+ wedding was such a pleasure at such a stunning location.
Maddie and Jess picked my hourly package, and we spent 2 hours together, from just before the ceremony to an hour after. Meaning the ceremony, confetti, group photos and stunning couple portraits were all photographed before they went off with their friends and family to a nearby pub for a meal.
Intimate weddings have become more popular, no doubt, since covid and I love to hour my 2-5 hour packages for these smaller Wedding days. Although with hourly I find we have to be more on time and specific with timings and schedule, but it can really work well for lots of couples and lovers.
Knowing what you want from your Wedding day is so important and having your day photographed in some way but still having an intimate wedding with friends and family you truly want to celebrate with, can still go hand in hand.
After the group photos on the steps of Marylebone Townhall we did a few photos of Maddie & Jess there too, as the building is so gorgeous and you’re able to capture a few shots inside as they arrive and before they leave also. After these we popped around the corner to a cobbled street and beautiful mews, which was perfect for the light and add to the London wedding vibes.
It was really important for Maddie and Jess to feel comfortable with their photographer, as I hear with most of my LGBTQ+ weddings, it’s so important for me to be their safe space and also let them know that being awkward and shy is totally okay, however I find a few minutes in and we’re all so much more comfortable and enjoy being photographed.
