St. Audries Park Wedding – Zoe & Han

LGBTQ+ Real wedding in Somerset

Zoe and Han’s St. Audries Park wedding was the perfect blend of romance, personality, and pure joy. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Orangery and surrounded by their favourite people, their day was filled with colour, laughter, nostalgia, and the kind of energy that invites everyone to celebrate wholeheartedly. From getting ready together to a surprise lipsync battle that kicked off the party, their wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best days are the ones you make entirely your own.

The Couple’s Story

Zoe (she/her) and Han (she/her) met in 2022 and fell for each other almost instantly. Their love story unfolded on the beach, sea swims, sunsets, and was full of signs that they were meant to be together. Han moved to Torquay to be closer to Zoe in 2023 and their love of dates by the sea grew!

By 2024 they were engaged and the couple began to plan the wedding of their dreams. Both knew that one of the most important things to them was everyone feeling comfortable, the wedding feeling like them & ensuring it was full of love & queer joy.

The Venue — St. Audries Park

St. Audries Park is one of Somerset’s most loved wedding venues, and it’s easy to see why Zoe and Han chose it. They instantly fell for the lightfilled Orangery, a dreamy space for a ceremony and the fact that their guests could stay onsite with them for the night.

The venue’s sweeping grounds, elegant architecture, and peaceful coastal countryside setting made it the perfect backdrop for a celebration rooted in love, joy, and community.

As two LGBTQ+ people, it was important to Zoe & Han that they felt safe and celebrated when picking a venue and St.Audries gave them that feel from the first visit.

The Wedding Morning

Zoe and Han chose to get ready together, surrounded by friends, music, and that excited, fizzy energy that fills the air on a wedding morning. They shared the space, the laughter, and the buildup (and the nerves), saving just one thing for the ceremony: the reveal of their outfits.

Zoe and Han had planned out the morning with roles given to friends such as being in charge of the playlist, ensuring nobody’s drink is empty & making sure the wed-to-bes & I do crew eat before drinking!

The Ceremony

Held in the stunning St. Audries Park Orangery, decorated with red & pink florals and disco balls, their ceremony was led by Tanisha from Lovestruck Celebrant, who told their story with warmth, humour, and heart.

There were nods throughout to the people they wished could be there, but the ceremony never lost its sense of joy. It was tender, personal, and full of the kind of moments that stay with you long after the day ends.

Zoe and Han wrote their own vows to each other and there was a reading from a close friend. After the ceremony, many guests commented on how beautifully personal the ceremony was.

The ceremony ended with a confetti throw and the party started with Lucy Harvey playing the saxophone in the sunshine for guests to dance with welcome drinks & canapes.

Portraits Around the Grounds

St. Audries Park offers endless opportunities for portraits from the sweeping driveway to the gardens, the Orangery, and the dramatic architecture of the main house.

We wandered through the grounds, capturing the two of them wrapped up in newlywed bliss. The soft September light, the coastal Somerset air, and the quiet pockets of space around the venue created the perfect setting for relaxed, natural portraits that feel like

them.

Zoe & Han booked the two is better than one package meaning they had both digital and film photography on the day, perfect for capturing the golden hour glow.

The Reception

The reception was a burst of colour and personality. Pink and red florals filled the space, disco balls caught the light, and every detail felt intentional and joyful.

Speeches were short but meaningful a heartfelt moment from Han’s dad and a speech from Zoe, who ended by asking if anyone knew the words to The Best by Tina Turner.

Then came the twist: each table had to choose one person to represent them in a lipsync battle for the chance to win free drinks. After the first dance, the lipsync kicked off and the energy skyrocketed. It was chaotic, hilarious, and made the evening unforgettable.

Advice for Future Weds

Zoe and Han’s biggest advice is simple:

Make your wedding a reflection of you.

Choose the traditions you love, skip the ones you don’t, and create moments that feel meaningful, fun, and true to your relationship. When you lead with joy and authenticity, your guests will follow.
