Intimate LGBTQ+ London Wedding

This years Weddings have been so gorgeous so far, with many more LGBTQ+ Weddings to photograph this year, I wanted to share some one of my favourites from the start of the year.

Lizzie and Darcy planned their Wedding very quickly, with an engagement late last Summer and some exciting plans to make their wedding extra special and exciting for their guests, whilst keep it intimate and the way they wanted. Hiding the reception as an engagement party, meaning that any evenings guests had no idea they’d actually got married a few hours before, with their close friends and family.

Joining Darcy and Lizzie getting ready together in a gorgeous London hotel really had a calm but loving buzz about it, having your person by your side is no doubt my favourite thing to see on a wedding day and I much prefer it that getting ready separately.
We had some gorgeous photos near Tower Bridge before they got a taxi on to their ceremony, greeted with a small amount of friends and family to support them and enjoy the day together.

Of course no wedding is a good wedding without confetti and the girls exited with an amazing confetti shower before we ran off to have some gorgeous couples photos whilst the sun was soft and pretty.

What followed was a sweet afternoon tea in a very intimate wedding way, a few words and speeches by their nearest and dearest and off we went to set up for the evening reception AKA- engagement party, which their day guests helped organise and get the room ready to welcome so many more guests to be surprised and enjoy celebrating with the gorgeous couple.
This gave me some more time with the two of them to get some fun direct flash night time photos, before heading in to the venue to surprise everyone and announce that in fact they got married earlier that day and everyone was there for their wedding celebrations.

Tips I think we can all take from Lizzie & Darcy’s day:
Get ready together, being with your person the morning of the wedding will calm you down and make the morning way more fun. Enjoy your time together!
Invite only the people you want and love there
It doesn’t have to be a big affair, and can be done your own way. Your Wedding, your rules.
Brides don’t have to wear dresses & they can look awesome doing it
